 A modern titan has come to challenge the mythic figure so often invoked in the Olympics. The ancient games may have been introduced in honor of Zeus more than 2 1/2 millenniums ago. In 2012 London, however, the Greek king of gods stands to be upstaged by the unimposing little blue birdie of Twitter. Twitter tweets, Facebook status updates, email updates and the rest of the ways people instantly exchange information have made it inevitable that NBC would have to bend to new realities rather than cling to tradition.
