Josh Sommers, a veteran radio broadcaster and Times Herald-Record columnist, founded Focus Media, Inc. in 2002 and serves as the company’s President and CEO. His firm is a multi-faceted communications organization specializing in public relations, crisis management, market research, advertising, design and Web development.
In addition, Focus Media has extensive experience managing issue campaigns and representing developers in controversial land-use matters. Sommers’ firm is staffed by former award-winning journalists, marketing executives and graphic designers. Focus Media acquired Madden Communications & Marketing, LLC., (MCM) in 2009, the largest public relations firm in Rockland County. MCM has deep experience in financial services, real estate and political campaigns.
The company’s CEO Bill Madden joined Focus Media as Executive Vice President. Sommers, the current Chairman of the Board of the Sullivan County Partnership for Economic Development, is Vice President of Development of the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Member of the Board of Directors of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation and Sullivan County Economic Development Corporation, and is a Past-President of the Monticello Rotary Club.
