Dodgers $7 Billion TV Deal Based On Ambitious Assumptions

Is Time Warner Cable willing to start a regional sports network with Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers that would make the team virtually the sole owner of the channel? That is what it would seem to take for the Dodgers, who are reportedly close to a new local television deal with TWC, to get to the $7 billion over 20 years the team is looking for. A deal of that size would seemingly justify the $2 billion Guggenheim Management paid for the team last year and make their high payroll easier to fathom.
