Australian investors enviously watching the performance of initial public offerings such as human-resources software provider Workday WDAY -3.52%– which has nearly doubled since its NYSE-listing last week — may be unknowingly profiting.  QIC, which manages around 65 billion Australian dollars (US$67 billion) on behalf of the Queensland state government, sovereign wealth funds, superannuation funds and other institutional investors, has a A$3 billion private equity arm which has had a stake in recent high-profile IPOs.
