Global fund of funds manager Capital Dynamics has closed its latest US venture fund with commitments of $111m.

Capital Dynamics Champion Ventures VII, a US-based venture programme targeting US venture managers and international venture firms with strong US ties, has already made several commitments.

Many of these funds have commenced investing and some of the funds have already experienced IPOs of underlying portfolio companies, the firm said in a statement.

Spencer Punter, director and head of US venture capital at Capital Dynamics, said, “We are delighted that the fund has reached a successful close and has attracted capital from existing and new institutional investors as well as high net worth individuals. We’d like to thank both our investors and general partners for their participation and role in the program’s success.”

Capital Dynamics’ CEO Thomas Kubr added, “Our success in fundraising illustrates the importance of investing in people and relationships. We have increased our investment in venture capital and in Silicon Valley substantially since 2009 – the success of the programme is a testament to the solid relationships we have built and to the quality of our team of venture professionals in Silicon Valley.”

Capital Dynamics manages prior generation funds of funds with over 150 US venture fund holdings, representing more than 40 managers.
