BABASON CAPITAL Giving Thanks and Giving Turkeys
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Babson Capital associates stepped up to help those in need by pledging nearly 800 turkeys to hunger-relief organizations in their local communities.
The Turkey Drive, which is in its second year, ran from October 31 to November 11 and in that two-week period Babson Capital associates pledged 772 turkey to those less fortunate. Assuming a cost per turkey of $16, Babson Capital associate donations combined with a company match reached $12,352 surpassing the previous year’s total of just over $11,000.
“When it comes to supporting our local communities, our associates always surpass our expectations,” said Marty McDonough, Director of Corporate Communications and a member of Babson Capital’s Charitable Strategy Committee. “It’s very rewarding to be able to make a positive impact in our local communities, especially during the holiday season.”
The local agencies that will receive the funds, purchase and distribute the turkeys are:
■Greater Boston Food Bank, Boston, MA
■Loaves and Fishes, Charlotte. N.C.
■Open Pantry, Springfield, MA
