Health Care REIT Inc HCN +0.27%. said it plans to sell Sunrise Senior Living Inc SRZ +0.07%.’s management business for about $130 million to a group of private-equity buyers, as the health-care-focused real-estate investment trust moves forward with its plans to create one of the largest owners of senior housing in the world. Health Care REIT last month unveiled plans to buy Sunrise for about $845 million. The sale of the management business, which staffs and runs the senior-housing properties, is expected to close immediately prior to Health Care REIT’s acquisition, expected in the first half of next year.
