Madison-based venture capital firm Venture Investors has received commitments of $70 million for its fifth venture capital fund, according to an investor in the fund. WEA Trust committed $4 million to the Madison-based fund in March, said Mike Quist, chief financial officer. WEA Trust is an independent, nonprofit company that is an outgrowth of the state's largest teachers union. It sells insurance to school districts and local units of government.
