NY State: Interested In More Direct #PrivateEquity Investments #AmyOr @WSJ @resilient_ent

The New York State pension fund is interested in increasing its direct private-equity investments, its comptroller said Friday. This came as the New York State Common Retirement Fund invested $12.9 million in mattress retailer Sleepy's Inc. (SLPY), through a program which targets investments in New York companies.

 "We've found great success with the program. We are certainly interested to make more commitment to it in dollar terms, but the priority now is to get more money out the door," said New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, who is a trustee of the $140 billion pension fund.
